Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryETHEL MAY GUSTAFSON (SHERBINO) February 22, 1923 - November 11, 2007 Peacefully on November 11, 2007, after a brief illness, Ethel Gustafson passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Ethel was born on February 22, 1923. She leaves to mourn daughters Carol Smith and Linda Graham (John), grandchildren Tim Smith (Carrie) Robert Smith, Michael Smith, Jane Kraut (Uri), Jolin Graham, great-granddaughters Leah and Rachel Kraut, brothers Nelson Sherbino (Jackie) and Bob Sherbino (Helen), sister Phyllis Jopling, sister-in-law Joy Sherbino, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ethel was predeceased by Fred, her beloved husband of 52 years, in July 1997. She was predeceased by brother Chuck Sherbino, sisters Betty Cooper and Vera Dickson, brothers-in-law Bruce Jopling, Lloy Cooper, and Ken Dickson. Mom lived in Fort Rouge all of her life, graduating from Kelvin High School, as have both her daughters and her granddaughters. She was a dedicated Zellers employee for many years, rising to Credit Manager. Ethel came from a large family, which kept her busy with many family milestones. Ethel enjoyed knitting, crocheting, doing ceramics and playing cards. One of her favourite times was playing cards with the girls, and she won her final card game two weeks ago. Her kindness and generosity, along with her humour and wit, will be missed by everyone. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother and her life touched many. Mom will be missed by all, but not forgotten. A memorial service will be held at Crescent Fort Rouge United Church, NE Wardlaw and Nassau N., on Thursday, November 15, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. In remembrance, donations may be made to Crescent Fort Rouge United Church, or a charity of your choice.
